Biographical Information
- Born at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC
- Baptized by his grandfather William Ramseur Minter.
- Childhood stories from Mary Sue Wootton
- Lots of creek beds and hills and paths to hike where Bill and sisters Susan and Diane spent their first growing up years.
- Bill and friend Dennis hunted poisonous snakes in hopes of selling the "milk". Luckily they had little luck.
- Susan and Diane were buddy hikers and set out often down the dusty road in front of our house, chanting merrily "We're off to seek adventure, adventure, adventure!" One time in the fall all three siblings decided to do the hill above the house where trails were full of fallen leaves. They returned with a great sense of accomplishment, but alas Diane had only one shoe on. (They each had just one good pair for school.) The siblings and their mother retraced their journey but never found the mate to Diane's one shoe.
- The last Xmas before we left (Mississippi) Susan got ML (My Lady), a worn out old horse we bought from some gentleman. She had the habit now and again of dumping the rider!!! We used her once to build a treehouse. (Actually Bill was on this adventure). The three transported boards etc to build in a tree somewhere down near the clinic. Details elude me. I know they made several trips and had a great sense of accomplishment when it was livable!!!!
- Sent to the Fenster School in Tucson Arizona as a teenager while his family was still in Mississippi hoping for a better climate for asthma
